Plate engraving illustrating a personification of ‘Beauty’. The figure has her head in the cloud (symbolising that nothing is impossible) and is surrounded by a splendour of light. One hand holds a lily (symbolising the senses) and the other a ball and compass (symbolising beauty as consisting of measure and proportion).
